Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before placing an order. By placing an order through our website you agree to these terms.

About Us

Spit and Polish is a small business based in Malta selling curated pre-loved and new designer and contemporary fashion, bags, jewellery and accessories. 15% of every sale is donated to animal rescue charities in Malta and Gozo.

2.

Products

  • Most items are pre-loved (second-hand) unless clearly marked as "New".
  • Pre-loved items may show minor signs of wear consistent with their age and previous use. These are part of the character of second-hand fashion.
  • We carefully inspect, clean and photograph every item. Any noticeable flaws are described in the product listing.
  • Colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen.
  • Most pieces are one-of-a-kind. Once an item is sold it is no longer available.

Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are in euros (€) and include any applicable VAT.
  • We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If an error is discovered after you order, we will contact you before processing.
  • Payment is taken at the time of order. Orders are only confirmed once payment is successfully received.
4.

Orders

  • Placing an order constitutes an offer to buy. We will confirm acceptance by email or message.
  • We may refuse or cancel an order if the item is no longer available, if there is a pricing error, or for any other reasonable reason. In such cases you will receive a full refund.
  • Once an order has been processed or shipped it cannot normally be cancelled.

Sizing & Measurements

  • Size labels can vary significantly between brands, countries and vintage pieces.
  • Customers are responsible for checking the measurements provided on the product page before ordering.
  • We are happy to provide additional measurements or photos on request — just contact us before you buy.
6.

Shipping

  • We offer local pickup in Malta (strongly recommended so you can inspect the item before completing the purchase).
  • Shipping options, costs and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout.
  • Delivery times are estimates only and can be affected by the courier.
  • Once an order has been handed to the courier we are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping provider.
  • Please double-check your shipping address. We are not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address supplied by you.
  • If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, contact us as soon as possible and we will work with the courier to resolve the issue.
7.

Returns & Refunds

Clothing

If an item of clothing does not fit or is not as expected, you may return it provided that: you contact us within 5 days of receiving the order; the item is unworn, unwashed and in its original condition; and you return it using a tracked service (buyer pays return postage unless we made an error). Local customers may return items in person by arrangement.

Jewellery

All jewellery sales are final and non-refundable.

Sale items & final-sale items

Items marked as sale or final sale cannot be returned.

Refund processing

We will inspect returned items. If accepted, a refund will be issued to the original payment method (usually within a few business days of receipt). Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error. Because part of every sale supports animal rescue, we process donations shortly after purchase. This is why our returns window is short and conditions are strict.

Local Pickup

We strongly encourage local customers to choose pickup. This allows you to inspect the condition, size and overall suitability of the item before taking it home. Once you accept the item at pickup, the sale is complete.

10.

Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the purchase price of the item.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11.

Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malta.
  • Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable EU or Maltese law.
12.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the website at the time of your order will apply.
